In the effort to improve the quality of education, pedagogical competence of teachers is one very important factor. Efforts to improve teacher competence can be done by optimizing the role of principal, as: educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, motivator, mediator
Improved teacher competence paedagogik not be separated from the school principal. Thus the principal should be able to play a role in improving the competence of teachers of Islamic religious education, so that the learning process does not saturate and produce quality graduates. Departing from the author’s background and want to discuss in this thesis and take the title role of the Principal in Improving Teacher Competency Paedagogik Islamic Religious Education in school full day school program international school (SBI) Al-Hikmah SMP Gayungsari Surabaya.
The purpose of this study to describe the Principal Role in Improving Teacher Competency Paedagogik Islamic Education in Schools program full day school international school (SBI) Al-Hikmah SMP Gayungsari mendiskipsikan Surabaya and Principal Strategies in improving teacher competence paedagogik Islamic Education in Schools full day school program international school (SBI) Gayungsari Surabaya, as well as describing the success achieved in improving the competence of the Principal Teacher paedagogik Islamic Education in Schools program full day school international school (SBI) Al-Hikmah SMP Gayungsari Surabaya.
In this study researchers used a qualitative descriptive study, due to depict or describe phenomena that it is at the sites. The data collection procedures by using the method of observation, documentation and interviews. Researchers to analyze data using the phase stages, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing tentative conclusions, verification, drawing final conclusions as the findings. Then check the validity of the data using triangulation.
And checking the validity of the findings is done with: the degree of belief or proof of the fact that there are (Credibility) keteralihan data or extracting data from informen to fit the context, (Trasferability) dependence of the data, (Dependability) between the facts and information; certainty of data (Copermability) from several sources in order to obtain objective data, results showed: The results of this study can be concluded that (1) The role of school principals in enhancing teacher competence paedagogik Islamic Religious Education in a way as to optimize the role of principal (EMASLIMM) educators, managers, administrators , supervisor, leader, innovator, motivator, mediator. (2) the principal strategy in improving the competence of the Islamic Religious Education Teacher paedagogik there are four systems, namely (a) the institution’s internal systems, (b) the system of higher inter-agency in the country, (c) inter-agency and inter-system of the State, (4) system with a government agency. (3) The success of the Principal in improving teachers’ pedagogical competence PAI which include: the ability to manage learning, understanding of learners, learning design, implementation of educational and dialogical learning, the use of learning technology, learning evaluation, and development of learners extracurricular needs to maintain and enhance return.
